When the discs of your spine are compressed not only is blood flow restricted, but so too are the pathways of your nervous system inhibited. This can lead to disc thinning and degeneration of the spine. Misalignment of the spine also decreases the body’s ability to efficiently remove waste which can increase the likelihood of bone spur formation, arthritic pain, and inflammation.

Intersegmental traction is a means of introducing passive motion into your spine to stretch spinal joints relieving disc pressure and improving mobility. During this treatment, a patient will lie flat on a table that is lined with vibrating rollers beneath its surface. These rollers then slowly travel the length of the spine to gently separate the spinal disks and improve blood flow. Most patients find this form of traction to be both relaxing and therapeutic.
